Sam Gray of Boulder Informed of Peace Corps Deployment Location

Sam Gray of Boulder was recently informed that he will be a Peace Corps member in the Dominican Republic.

 
While Sam Gray of Boulder found out he would be serving in the Peace Corps a couple of months ago, he just recently discovered where. Sam Gray of Boulder’s placement officer recently called to notify him that he would be deployed in the Dominican Republic in March 2014.

Sam Gray of Boulder is thrilled about the news, having never been to the Dominican Republic before. “When I got the phone call, it made my day,” said Sam Gray of Boulder. “It feels good to finally know where I will be.” Sam Gray of Boulder has been waiting to hear where he will spend the next two years of his life for a few months now. All in all, Sam Gray of Boulder has been going through the Peace Corps application, interview, and placement process for more than six months.

“It is definitely a long process, but I think it’s worth it. They just want to make sure they are getting dedicated and qualified individuals in the program, so I have no problem with it,” said Sam Gray of Boulder.

Though he does not know what he will specifically be doing over the next 24 months, he may have some idea. Sam Gray of Boulder has completed certification to teach English as a second language, something the Peace Corps really likes. Much of what the Peace Corps does revolves around economic and cultural development. “I know a lot of people in the Peace Corps teach English as a second language, so I’m expecting that that could be part of what I will be doing. But, I’m open to almost anything,” said Sam Gray of Boulder.

Sam Gray of Boulder is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder. He graduated with degrees in Economic and International Affairs. While in college, Sam Gray of Boulder participated in 3 summer internships with the global investment management firm Franklin Templeton Investments in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, San Mateo California and Fort Lee, New Jersey. Sam Gray of Boulder’s experiences and knowledge helped him through the Peace Corps application process.

Sam Gray of Boulder is excited about his future in the United States Peace Corps.
