Clayton Perlman recently participated in an interview where he talked about his career experiences and goals for the future.

Clayton Perlman, a successful and experienced real estate developer, recently sat down to discuss his 30-plus year career. Clayton Perlman was candid and frank, opening up about lessons he has learned and goals he still wishes to accomplish.

For the past fourteen years, Clayton Perlman has been working for KPR Trading. During this time, he has immersed himself in every aspect of real estate development and business. Clayton Perlman has experience in land acquisition, risk management, construction, purchasing, mortgage financing, project management, sales and closings, and more.

Over the years, Clayton Perlman has been responsible for negotiation, processing, and closing more than 40M dollars in construction, over 11M in mortgage loan closings, and the acquisition, development and sale of over 100 homes and 300 lots in four states. Clayton Perlman is considered one of the most experienced people in the industry.

“I’ve learned a lot; that is for sure. It’s funny to look back twenty or thirty years ago and see how far I have come. I think my previous employers and partners would be impressed,” said Clayton Perlman.

Some of Clayton Perlman’s previous employers include Dobbs Construction in Miami, FL, Perlman Properties in Atlantic City, NJ, and Robbie Stein Trading in New York, NY. In addition to working as an employee in those companies, Clayton Perlman also helped start a few ventures. In 1986, Clayton Perlman co-founded a construction company called Ficca Perlman Developers. Two years later he founded and built a real estate development company in Newhall, CA.

“I have learned the difference between owning a company and working for a company. I think there are benefits to both, but it is important to understand that they are different,” Clayton Perlman advised. “As an owner you spend a lot of your time managing people, while as an employee you get more hands-on activity.”

Clayton Perlman mentioned that he is looking forward to seeing what the future has in store. He is looking to stay in real estate development, but sees the possibility of going in new and unique directions. “It’s a fun industry to be in. You are sort of at the mercy of the market, but that’s what makes it fun,” Clayton Perlman said.
