Trainer Dwayne Hay Trains NHL Driven Athletes

Dwayne Hay is a trainer for Strive Fitness and Nutrition and is the hockey coordinator training aspiring hockey athletes.

 
If you are driven to succeed in sports then you could do nothing better for yourself or your student athlete then to find a professional sports trainer. While the cost may be more than a traditional trainer, the professional or elite trainer with have the experience and knowledge to train future star athletes. Dwayne Hay possesseses an extensive knowledge of hockey due to his past performances as a professional hockey player.

“I used to play for the Calgary Flames. It was what I had spent years training for. Being drafted into the NHL was probably the single greatest moment of my life,” says Dwayne Hay. He played for the Calgary Flames between 2000 and 2001 and despite the briefness of his career, he learned a lot about the world of professional hockey.

After Dwayne Hay left the Calgary Flames, he was picked up by Strive Fitness and Nutrition. “I was hired to be the facility’s Hockey Program Coordinator,” says Dwayne Hay. As the program coordinator, Dwayne Hay took on the responsibility of designing and developing training programs for aspiring hockey athletes.
Dwayne Hay warns potential trainees of the seriousness of the program. “Strive Hockey is a serious training program. The program is only meant for hockey players seriously committed to pushing themselves to their limits. My trainees push their personal skills in speed, acceleration, strength, power, preparedness, and teamwork. It is an intense program designed for athletes that aspire to play in the NHL,” says Dwayne Hay.

The program is designed for players of all ages but is meant to bring out the best of athletes. Dwayne Hay ensures parents that through the program, their children will get more than their money’s worth. Dwayne Hay uses a “learn by doing” format and knows practice and experience are essential to making the advanced skills routine.

As much as Dwayne Hay works to train the body, he also helps the students focus on their minds. “As a Calgary Flames player, we partnered with the Reading…Give It A Shot program to reward kids to read. Through Strive Hockey, we give students tips on nutrition but also on education and preparing for university or college,” says Dwayne Hay.
