Anthony Harrelson, CEO and Founder of White Oak Industries says that another “crucial piece” of his research has come together. For the past several years, Dr. Harrelson and his research team, have been focused on a new kind of immunotherapy that could create an HIV vaccine after it is fully developed. White Oak Industries has discovered that the role of dendritic cells in the immune system can be developed and created a method to generate these cells and trigger a response in the cells of a human. This will create a seek and destroy cell preventing the cells of a virus from hiding and giving our treatment the opportunity to completely destroy any virus that would be hiding in any tissue in the human body.

With a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Anthony Harrelson used his educational background to begin development of a new kind of viral treatment. Treatments in the past have sought to kill all infected cells in the body, or treat the symptoms until the virus runs its natural course within the body. Dr. Harrelson has found a way to introduce treatment that works with the body’s immune system to eradicate the virus within each person’s body.

When viruses infect different people, they mutate slightly to avoid detection by the body’s immune system. Rather than working against the body’s immune system, Anthony Harrelson developed a treatment that uses RN interference and dendritic cells within a person’s own immune system to destroy the virus quickly and without side effects. The treatment works by reprogramming the body’s dendritic cells to signal the immune system to attack certain viral cells within all tissues of the body. Dendritic cells tell the immune system where to focus its energy. It flags certain antigens that they perceive as threats for the T cells and antibodies to destroy.

Anthony Harrelson acknowledges that a workable HIV vaccine will still take some time but his company, White Oak Industries, has been making strides towards that goal for the past several years. Harrelson hopes to be able to move on to the testing stage after a few more years of development. Dr. Harrelson will partner with several labs and educational institutions in the area to help his team create the first HIV vaccine in history. He says that eventually, this research could lead to medicine that will save the lives of millions of people all over the world.
