Prior to the construction of this new fuel storage facility, The Gambia only had a very small and dated fuel terminal. The old fire terminal was even considered a fire hazard because of its age. After the old fuel terminal was deconstructed, the area it previously occupied was converted to a residential area. The people of Gambia used to experience consistent fuel shortages and outages thanks to inadequate storage units. With the newly constructed fuel terminal, the people of Gambia are able to enjoy consistent amounts of fuel.
