Not long after Hong Tang moved from Wuhan, China to West Palm Beach, she started looking for a way to support herself. Like many immigrants, Tang moved to the United States in search of greater economic opportunity. She had studied oil drill mechanics at a university in her home city, but she couldn’t find an opening to break into the very profitable energy sector in the area. She started working at a spa, pampering guests and getting to know the people of her community while contributing to the booming luxury hospitality market of the area. She is now looking for a job in the energy sector once again.

Hong Tang grew her prospects in West Palm Beach by always working hard and helping customers relax. Tang made it easy to help her fellow employees do their jobs while making her managers and supervisors look good. She stopped working at the spa after many years because she wanted to settle down with her husband and create a home for children. Hong Tang West Palm Beach is now a fiercely proud homemaker. She never lost her work ethic and her desire to work well in the United States, however. Hong Tang hopes to enrich the lives of her family and friends in West Palm Beach by starting her second career in the energy sector there. The industry provides many jobs and opportunities and she hopes to be a part of it. Tang also harbors a profound interest in Chinese calligraphy, poetry, and art. She hopes to use her success in the community to teach others the history of her homeland and give people the chance to learn about a province and a city (and for many a country) that they know next to nothing about. Despite the 10 million people that live in Wuhan and its high place in China’s hierarchy of important trade and transportation hubs, few Americans know of the city in which Tang was born and its rich history.
