Experienced family physician Dr. Kirk Smith of Tulsa is proud to announce the December 2014 opening of his new family medicine practice, located in the friendly confines of the Shattuck, Oklahoma-based Newman Memorial Hospital. An experienced and highly-qualified medical care provider with extensive expertise in the field of family medicine and advanced obstetrics, Dr. Smith intends to provide the same level of patient-focused care and compassion in his new practice that he has throughout the course of his entire medical career.

Dr. Kirk Smith of Tulsa has enjoyed his role as Medical Officer with the Jicarilla Service Unit of the Indian Health Service since July of 2013, as well as prior work serving our nation’s active duty soldiers, Wounded Warriors, and military Veterans as a Locum Tenens medical provider. As an experienced family medicine practitioner, Dr. Smith has enjoyed the opportunity to work and perform within numerous demanding, fast-paced environments, including as Medical Director of the Lawton Correctional Facility, as Physician Partner for the South Tulsa Maternity & Pediatric Associates organization and as a Clinical Instructor for the University of Oklahoma Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Smith is grateful for the many opportunities that have been afforded to him throughout his professional career, and is hopeful to use the skills and experience obtained during that time to continue his legacy of compassionate patient care for many years to come.

A member of numerous organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians and more, Dr. Kirk Smith of Tulsa eagerly awaits his chance to re-enter private practice and to once again provide high-quality care to the people of Oklahoma. A professional of extensive obstetrics, ER and Urgent Care facility experience, Dr. Smith hopes to now translate what he has learned and accomplished into superlative service for both his patients and for Newman Memorial Hospital, and to be of service to people throughout the region for many years to come.

Dr. Kirk Smith of Tulsa received much of his medical training at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, though his doctoral education was obtained as a student at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He looks forward to this next phase of his career with hope, optimism and eager anticipation.
