In his more than fifteen years as a physician specializing in spinal care, Dr. Abubakar Durrani has been honored many times over for his groundbreaking work and dedication to excellence. Recently he was given the Award of Honor in Orthopedic Surgery by the National Institute of Medicine, and in the past he has been named Top Orthopedic Surgeon and honored for his contributions to the extant research in the field.

Dr. Abubakar Durrani’s research focuses on minimally invasive techniques for spine care and spine treatment, with such specializations as spinal deformity, care of intervertebral discs, musculoskeletal oncology, MIS in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, and MIS Lumbar Fusion. Dr. Abubakar Durrani’s findings have led to technological advances resulting in many treatments being available as outpatient procedures at his various clinics.

In his capacity as a respected member of the medical profession, Dr. Abubakar Durrani has been asked to present at many medical conferences over the past fifteen years, most recently traveling to Chicago, IL and Miami, FL for meetings and lectures. Although treating patients and providing individualized care remain his highest priorities, Dr. Abubakar Durrani relishes opportunities to present his findings to his peers in the medical community and to aspiring future spinal surgeons as well.

Dr. Abubakar Durrani has been the recipient of nearly $2 million in various grants funding his research, and has been awarded a fellowship by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and an Edgar Dawson Traveling Fellowship from the Scoliosis Research Society. He puts his techniques to practice at the two renowned treatment centers he has founded, CAST (Center for Advanced Spine Technologies) and MISI (Minimally Invasive Spine Institute), as well as his various office locations in Ohio and Kentucky. Dr. Abubakar Durrani served as the Director of Spine Surgery and was an attending orthopedic surgeon at West Chester Hospital at the University of Cincinnati.
