Brent Colbert of Blythe recently celebrated his 26 years of work by having a barbeque with family and friends. Brent Colbert of Blythe has worked for multiple companies in many different facets. Some of his experience includes working as a Reactor Controls Leading Petty Officer, a Shift Supervisor and Instrument Technician for Ogden Power Corporation, an Operations Manager for General Electric, and currently a Plant General Manager for Florida Power and Light.

The idea for the celebration came about came about one night in July when Brent Colbert of Blythe and some of his friends were sitting around reminiscing on their careers. “The conversation quickly turned to the topic of who had the most work experience, and I guess it was me,” Brent Colbert of Blythe said with a sarcastic grin. His friends then realized that they had missed the milestone of 25 years, so they decided to make up for it with a 26th anniversary party.

“I think it was a fun time had by all,” Brent Colbert of Blythe said. “Just being able to spend time with all the people that mean something to me made for a night I won’t forget anytime soon.” The barbeque kicked off in the afternoon and people dropped in and out for the remainder of the evening. One friend volunteered his backyard for the party, and another friend who owns his own printing business brought a large banner that congratulated Brent Colbert of Blythe on his accomplishments. “I really appreciated everything my friends did for the party, it really showed me how blessed I am to have people like that in my life,” Brent Colbert of Blythe said.

Brent Colbert of Blythe is usually not one to stop and smell the roses, so having the celebration was a special moment for him. He has been back at work this week doing his usual coordinating of schedules, hiring and training, and overseeing of machinery but has a noticeably different step. It appears the time of reflection was refreshing for Brent Colbert of Blythe. “After taking some time to look back on all that I’ve accomplished and done, it makes me look forward to the next 26 years,” said Brent Colbert of Blythe.
