(Ames, Iowa) – February is National Children’s Dental Health Month. Dr. Niegsch and Dr. Garman at Dentistry At Somerset in Ames invite parents to bring their children ages 6 months-13 years to Dentistry At Somerset for a FREE dental screening.

Screenings will be held every Friday in February from noon until 2 pm. Reservations are required. Parents are welcome to bring questions for our dentists. Doctors will provide a screening for each child and supply parents with a Certificate of Dental Screening from the Iowa Department of Health.

“Children’s teeth are meant to last a lifetime, and a healthy smile is important to a child’s self-esteem. With proper care, a balanced diet and regular dental visits, their teeth can remain healthy and strong,” said Dr. Jason Niegsch.

To help promote positive dental habits, Dentistry At Somerset is holding a coloring contest and an essay contest as part of their celebration. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate. Prizes will be awarded for the top 3 coloring contestants and the top 3 essay contestants. In addition, Dentistry At Somerset will donate $100 to each of the six winning families’ favorite charities.
