St. Louis, MO, August 27, 2019 /PressReleasePing/ - At the 2019 Master’s Outdoor National Track & Field Championship, Joseph Peebles, bestselling author and President & CEO of the Peebco Energy Group’s 4x100 meter relay team set a new U.S. National record within their non-club, 55-59 year age division. His 4x100 meter relay team was the first to have ever run below 50.0 seconds within this non-club division. The previous record of 50.14 was set back in 2006. Peebles and his relay teammates ran an astonishing 49.90 seconds.
“We broke the previous record by less than a quarter of a second. One can’t even wink their eye within a quarter of a second,” Peebles states. “On that particular, mid July day, all of the winning tumblers had fallen into place. The track was spongy and soft, the weather was brutally hot, and there was plenty of electricity following between both my teammates and myself. It was truly a stupendous effort and a strong sense of team work delivered by a great group of guys. Thanks gentlemen. It was truly an honor and a great pleasure running and winning with you guys,” he acknowledges.
Additionally, Peebles won a total of 3 Gold and 2 Silver medals in all during that championship weekend. He would also like to give kudos to the Iowa State University track officials and the USATF volunteer officials, and the many competing athletes, who endured the 96 degree heat that championship weekend. “Your efforts and accommodations were greatly appreciated and well accepted,” Peebles concludes. Great job, everyone!
