One of the most common and ancient ways of working with metal or Electrical branding iron involves pressure. Metallic stamping is basically that: exert a force on specific areas of metal to mold it as needed.

The beginnings of blacksmithing and other works with metals have been based on the application of pressure. Variation of temperature and precise blows were ideal for a long time. However, at the end of the 19th century, an important change was seen: the use of machinery to produce this effect en masse.

The manufacture of bicycles was one of the first tasks in history which impelled the machine engraving stamping of metals in a massive way. The high demand and the low cost to produce identical pieces of solid quality were important factors for this. In addition to this, Henry Ford arrived who opposed it in the beginning.

The resistance of the forged metal is a little higher than that of the stamping, however, the process is much slower and the difference in the result is not much. For this reason, Ford cars were very popular and its creator had to yield. Stamping speeds up the process and keeps costs down. With this, they managed to satisfy the existing demand on the part of those who wanted his cars.

From the beginning of its history, the pattern can be used for everything you imagine that involves pressure:

• The deformation with plates and other machines, gives shape to the metal, according to the molds that are used.
• Die-cutting or steel marking punches are used to cut or make holes in the metal.
• The stuffing is used to obtain hollow bodies.

Stamping is a type of manufacturing process by which a metal is subjected to a compression load between two molds.
The load can be a progressively applied pressure or a percussion for which presses and hammers are used. The molds are steel stamps or matrices, one of them sliding through a guide hammer or upper stamp and the other fixed.

Application of the Stamping:

The process of Steel marking punches is one of the most used methods in the industry for the manufacture of parts such as the automotive industry, transportation, agricultural equipment, among others. The products that are mostly manufactured with this type of process are:

• Stamped pieces
• Doors
• Roof Systems
• Covers
• Door hinges
• Hemming machines
