Angetrieben wird das Toughbook CF-MX4 von einem Intel-Prozessor vom Typ Core i5-5300U, bei dem es sich um eine Dual-Core-CPU der aktuellen 5. Core-Generation (Broadwell) handelt, die auch die vPro-Technologie unterstützt. Des Weiteren finden sich im Gehäuse, das Stürze aus bis zu 76 Zentimetern Höhe weitgehend unbeschadet überstehen soll, 4 oder 8 Gigabyte RAM und eine 128 oder 256 Gigabyte fassende SSD. An Schnittstellen verfügt das Convertible über 2x USB 3.0, 1x HDMI, 1x Ethernet, 1x VGA und einen SD-Kartenleser sowie einen optionaler SmartCard-Reader. Des Weiteren werden vom Gerät zur drahtlosen Kommunikation WLAN nach 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth und optional auch LTE unterstützt. Die Akkulaufzeit gibt Panasonic mit bis zu 13 Stunden an, wobei der Akku Hot-Swap-fähig ist, also vom Benutzer schnell und unkompliziert ausgewechselt werden kann. Als Betriebssystem ist Windows 8.1 Pro vorinstalliert.

Das Chassis des CF-MX4 besteht laut Hersteller aus der neuartigen UHD-Legierung, der Bereich um die Tastatur aber aus einer speziellen Carbon-Magnesium-Mischung, die äußerst leicht und dennoch sehr widerstandsfähig sein soll. Bedient werden kann das Hybrid-Gerät nicht nur per Touch oder Tastatur und Maus, sondern auch per beiliegendem Digitalisierstift. Dieser verfügt über eine sehr feine Spitze, wodurch handschriftliche Notizen kein Problem darstellen sollen.Den Angaben von Panasonic nach wird das Toughbook CF-MX4 Ende April in Deutschland erhältlich sein. Die Preise für das Convertible mit „Business Ruggedized“-Schutz beginnen dann bei 2339 Euro (UVP).Der taiwanesische Hersteller konnte auf seinem next@acer Event zwar ein riesiges Produktfeuerwerk abfeuern, doch einige der vorgestellten Produkte lassen auf sich warten. Viele Fragezeichen stehen in den Augen der Journalisten, wenn es um das neue Acer Predator Gaming-Tablet geht. Ohne eine direkte Bestätigung zu erhalten, munkelt man über ein 8 Zoll Display mit Full-HD-Auflösung und Android 5.0 Lollipop Betriebssystem. Auch im Smartphone-Bereich setzt Acer vor allem auf das Low-Budget-Segment. Das hat der Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona gezeigt. Hier gab es unter anderem das Liquid Jade Z Plus, das Z520 und das günstige M220 Plus Windows-Phone zu sehen. Auf dem next@acer Event in New York wurde letzteres noch einmal in den Mittelpunkt gestellt, da es auch in Hinsicht auf Windows 10 eines der ersten Modelle sein wird, die ein passendes Update erhalten werden. Für deutlich mehr Aufmerksamkeit sorgte allerdings das neue Acer Liquid X2. Ein 5,5 Zoll Smartphone, das im High-End-Bereich angesiedelt sein wird und mit Google Android 5.0 Lollipop als Betriebssystem daherkommt.Unter anderem setzt es auf eine 13 Megapixel Kamera, die sowohl an der Rückseite, als auch an der Front zum Einsatz kommen wird. Ähnlich wie bei Samsung wird der Sensor mit einer Blende von f/1.8 bestückt und lässt somit viel Licht in die Bilder einfließen, was bei Low-Light-Aufnahmen vom Vorteil sein kann. An zweiter Stelle steht ein neuer, nicht näher bezeichneter Octa-Core-Prozessor mit 64-Bit Architektur. Acer gab dabei nicht zu verlauten, ob man erneut auf seinen Partner MediaTek zurückgreifen wird. Die Chance ist allerdings sehr hoch.
