Boston, MA-NH - Shane Burcaw is Laughing At His Nightmare in Boston

Shane Burcaw and Sarah Yunusov, the founders of Laughing at My Nightmare, are coming to NTI's, 31 Nights of Light Event, honoring the achievements of individuals with disabilities. NTI is the leader in placing Americans with Disabilities back into the workplace. Shane and Sarah will discuss overcoming life challenges with a disability and how others can do the same. The event will occur in the Atrium of the Prudential Building in Boston, Massachusetts on December 3rd from 4:30 to 7:30 PM.

At 5:30 PM, Shane Burcaw will sign his bestselling memoir Laughing at My Nightmare at Barnes and Noble in which Burcaw leverages his incredible wit, to describe the challenges he faces as a 21-year-old with spinal muscular atrophy.

Shane was asked what "does it mean to him, to represent individuals with disabilities at the event?" In which, he replied, "I'm honored to be attending this event to honor NTI! I've lived with a disability since the day I was born, and in recent years I've been learning more about the real-world implications of having a disability when looking for a job. It's not easy, and to know that NTI is there to help people with that process is a beautiful thing."

Burcaw was asked why did he want to be part of the event honoring NTI for their achievements in helping Americans with Disabilities? He felt that "Securing meaningful employment is a crucial part of life, for anyone, disability or not. NTI provides life-changing services to help thousands of Americans with disabilities achieve exactly that. Their work is not only important but vital, as having a job is a stepping stone to life-long satisfaction."

The 31 Nights of Light event, which is held on the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, hopes to create awareness as well as share the stories and achievements of individuals with disabilities across the globe.
