Most of Hayze the Artist work is commissioned by individuals such as his renowned customized sneakers. His expertise includes work with exterior walls, interior walls, wood, paintings, jackets, T-shirts, socks, and sneakers. His pro bono work includes a piece created for University of Miami’s Larry Rosen's Jazz Roots program.

Hayze the Artist has been in the art business for over twenty years. He began his artistic journey at 12-years-old when he raised money for him to go to Australia for the Olympics in 2000. He is influenced and inspired by Diane Hayes, Hebru Brantley, Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Kim Jun Gi, Sam Gilliam, and Takashi Murakami. He started the Hayze Brand in 2007. He attended St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia, thanks to a scholarship aimed at helping youth in underserved communities and was part of the Richmond Boys Choir. He graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Music (Music Business and Entertainment Industries). His time at the University of Miami as an active student gave him an opportunity to be involved in choir, opera, dance and music clubs as well as fraternities and sororities, which gave him a stage to show his artwork. He is driven to show his positivity in his artwork.
