Parties are always fun, be it a friend's party or an office party. But there's a minute difference. You can excessively enjoy your friend's party but not the office one!

Office parties are a great way of mingling with your colleagues and other senior staff members. It's an opportunity step out of everyday routine and enjoy with them. These parties are all about enjoyment while maintaining your professionalism! Here's a list of things that you should not be doing at an office party!

Don't be late or leave early:

As a matter of fact, attendance at an office party is kind of mandatory. Also, being late for the party leaves a bad impression. Try to arrive in the first 30 minutes and avoid departing early if possible.

Don't dress appropriately:

An office party is an opportunity for you to dress a bit differently than you might at your workplace. But you should keep your casual at an appropriate level. Do not wear anything that is too casual or shows too much skin.

Avoid indulging in mean-spirited talks:

You should try and speak to everyone at the party but in a positive and friendly manner. You can leverage this time to speak to executives. Instead of being a part of practical jokes or talking about something that you won't talk about at your workplace, approach your seniors with a smile and get to know them.

Think twice before stockpiling your plate:

Etiquettes matter a lot when you are attending an office party. You obviously don't want to do something that makes you a topic of gossip at your workplace, the very next morning. So, make it a point that you do not overfill your plate.

Avoid getting too drunk:

You obviously do not want to do something that you have to regret the very next day. So, it's advisable to stay in your senses. Avoid drinking too much so as to remain sober.

Don't just stick to your phone:

There's a possibility that you might be dying to post a photo or two on social media or waiting for an important call or email. But sticking to your phone at a party shows people that you’re not interested. So just finish off with the important stuff and enjoy the party.
