Oman Air SATS Cargo LLC launched CMS & website that provides air cargo services for a wide range of products to and from Muscat.

Oman Air SATS Cargo LLC, a joint company formed between Oman Air and the Singapore based SATS Ltd, was incorporated in November last year. Following the successful union, a new identity starting with an online Cargo Management System (CMS) and a corresponding website,, mark the Company’s presence in the aviation industry

As the premier cargo operations handler at Muscat International Airport, Oman Air SATS is expected to further strengthen Oman’s position as a transit hub, promoting Muscat as the cargo gateway to the Middle East. The new company provides handling services to and from Muscat for a wide range of cargo, including pharmaceutical products, perishables, live animals and valuable items.

Mr. Khalifa Al Bahlani, the Corporate Development Manager of Oman Air SATS said: “Oman Air SATS is all set to become the premier cargo handling company in Muscat. With the competence and expertise of two world class organisations, namely Oman Air and SATS LTD joining hands to form this cargo entity, we rightly pride ourselves on our ability to offer guests the best possible services. The introduction of the new CMS system, utilising state-of-the-art technology, will certainly help us achieve this. The system, together with our new website, means we can offer an unrivalled service in the Middle East.”

The introduction of the new CMS replaces the current cargo handling system, Cargo Wings, at Muscat International Airport. Developed by SATS in Singapore, the new system has been designed exclusively for cargo handling at air terminals with a view to providing faster and more efficient processing of air cargo in and out of Muscat. Equipped with performance monitoring tools, the system has already been deployed successfully at some of the world’s major airports including Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Delhi and Bangalore.

The new system allows Oman Air SATS to offer automated processes at reception, cashier and delivery counters. Cargo is “visible” to agents, shippers and consignees through its web tracking system as the system interfaces with the existing Oman Customs’ Bayan network and airlines’ operation systems, thus providing seamlessness and convenience for the fast clearance of goods. New payment methods including credit card and pre-deposit payments will also make it easier for customer use.

The new website,, launched in May this year, is available in both Arabic and English and provides customers with up-to-date information on the cargo clearance process, schedule of charges and related information. It also serves as a platform to share the latest news and developments of the company with the industry.

The company has also strengthened its corporate identity by introducing new uniforms, whose vibrant colours reflect the strong aviation heritage of both Oman Air and SATS Ltd.

The recent developments at Oman Air SATS will be instrumental in providing even better services to the airfreight industry and the airlines operating at Muscat International Airport. In particular, Oman Air being the base and main air cargo operator at Muscat, would benefit from these developments, as both the airline and its cargo customers can look forward to a more professional and efficient service as the airline prepares for growth in the coming years.
