Johannesburg, 15 June 2022- Groundbreaking Pan-African social media technopreneurs Snake Nation will be among the headline attractions at the MOCA (Movement of Creative Africas) & AIC (Africa in Colors) event this coming June alongside celebrities like Miss Universe and South African celebrity model Zozi Tunzi when Snake Nation partners with this iconic African gathering to host its celebration of African Culture and Creatives in Rwanda.

MOCA & AIC is a Pan-African Event aimed at celebrating African CCI (Creative and Cultural Industries) in all its forms - from music, fashion, food, and visual arts to gaming, film and design - with the sole focus on drawing attention to the potential inherent in Africa's indigenous and diaspora creatives, and unlocking this potential through promoting cultural and business opportunities.

"Despite its impressive influence around the world, Africa represents only 1% of the global creative economy. Africa and its Diaspora, represent 18% of the world's population with an incredible cultural diversity spanning more than 2000 languages. This provides incredible potential for creative production and a strong presence that can span three continents," said MOCA organisers.

"Today digital technologies enable creators to preserve cultures, promote a new African narrative and effectively export local productions across the continent and reach a global audience."

Snake Nation's involvement at MOCA will include representation and organizational planning on the panels and tracks on Creative and Digital Economies, as well as organizing participating artists. This deep involvement with the event allows Snake Nation to co-promote its social media offerings, and the event, to its networks and societies in Rwanda and AASU (All African Student Union) college networks. Snake Nation's high-level involvement at this important pan-African event will also provide a perfect opportunity for Snake Nation to promote its mission, as well as give creative African rebels early access to the Snake Nation app.

"We are very excited to partner with the MOCA & AIC Conference in Kigali, Rwanda. We have always admired their work as comrades in the push to bring more diverse creators into the creative economy as a means of creating opportunities for creative and economic freedom," says Karl Carter, Snake Nation's CEO.

"We met with the MOCA organizers in Ghana late last year at the Youth Connekt Summit and along with our partners at All African Student Union this is our first chance to partner with them and do some great work in this exciting space."

MOCA & AIC takes place from 30 June - 3 July 2022 and will feature a Conference, Creativity Showcase, Music Lab, VR Installations, Networking Market, and the MOCA Talent Awards. The event can be attended live or virtually as part of a hybrid event. For more info, visit: www.kigali-aic.le-moca.com.
