As a professional and experienced China Pet Bottle manufacturer, Jilian Plastic Mould has advanced professional technology in injection molding, which can better serve our customers and meet the needs of different plastic molds.

Injection molding of a Pet Preform Mould is a process of pressing molten plastic into a mold cavity. Once the plastic cools, the part can be ejected. Injection molding is often used for mass production and prototyping of pet preform molds. Injection molding is a relatively new method of manufacturing parts.
There are six main steps in the injection molding process:
Injection molding process
1. Clamp
The injection molding machine consists of three basic components; the mold plus the clamping and injection unit. The clamping device is a device that keeps the mold under pressure during injection and cooling. Basically, it holds the two halves of the injection mold together.
2. injection
In the injection phase, plastic material, usually in the form of pellets, is loaded into the hopper at the top of the injection unit. The granules enter the cylinder where they are heated until they reach a molten state (think how the hot glue gun works here). Inside the heating cylinder there is an electric screw that mixes the molten particles and forces them to the end of the barrel. Once the area in front of the screw has accumulated enough material, the injection process begins. The molten plastic is inserted into the mold through the injection port while the pressure and speed are controlled by the screw. Note: Some injection molding machines use a punch instead of a screw.
3. Accommodation
The dwell phase includes a pause during the injection process. Molten plastic has been injected into the mold and pressure is applied to ensure that all of the mold cavities are filled.
4. cool down
The plastic is allowed to cool in the mold to its solid form.
5. Open the mold
Open the clamping device and separate the two halves of the mold.
6. Squirting
The eject lever and plate eject the finished part from the mold. Unused gates and runners can be recycled for use in future molds.
Advantages of injection molding
High yield
High tolerance is repeatable
Can use a variety of materials
Low labor costs
Minimum waste loss
Almost no need to complete the part after molding
Disadvantages of injection molding
Expensive equipment investment
Operating costs can be high
The design of the part must take into account the modeling factors
