First they spent Christmas apart and were spotted without engagement rings, now TMZ is reporting that Brand has officially declared divorce, claiming irreconcilable differences.

Brand's newly released statement says, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her, I know we'll remain friends."
It is so tough to take these kind of stories this time around of the season, particularly if you think about the belief that the separated pair's whirlwind romance became official on New Year’s Eve 2009 when Brand proposed to Perry in India.
The couple was married in October and they've no children indeed. As TMZ points out, Brand just made statement to Ellen last month to dispel the rumors but leaving most of us pretty shocked when they turned into true. There is no news from Perry yet but we'll keep our eyes peeled for your favourite singer's statement.
