84th Academy Award Nominees

Academy Award nominations have been declared for the countdown on January 24, 2012 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater by Academy President Tom Sherak and Oscar nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence.

 
84th Academy Awards soon to be start on February 26, 2012. It will be ninth time; Billy Crystal will host the show.
Earlier, Eddie Murphy was going to be the host for award ceremony but at the last moment, Murphy quits doing the hosting.

On June 14, 2011, it was announced by the Academy President Tom Shreak that the Board of Governors have approved some changes in the award categories and those changes came in “Best picture, Best Animated Feature, Best Documentary and Best Visual Effects”.
In 84th Academy Award, the movie “Hugo” directed by legendary Martin Scorsese got the highest 11 nominations including Best Picture and Best Director.

The movie “The Artist” got 10 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. George Clooney starrer “The Descendants” also got 5 nominations including Best picture, Best Director and Best Actor.
