Vietnam is rapidly becoming one of the world's most popular destinations of dental tourism, due to highly-qualified western trained dentists, modern designed hospitals and state-of-the-art equipment. Vietnam dental tourism is on the rise with the competitive advantage of price, compared to Thailand and Mexico. Moreover, it is a great destination to discover the fascinating cuisine, magnificent natural beauty, and centuries-old cultural complexities.
The platform launched on the 1st May 2019 with 50 dental clinics on board. The website is a dental tourism portal for English-speaking patients seeking information on dental procedures in Vietnam. Patients can search, compare and enquire to top dental hospitals, clinics in Vietnam as well as get support with traveling, accommodation, and insurance during their dental vacation. The site incorporates a “Guide to Dental Tourism”, price comparisons, patient stories, videos, and destination guides. Ly Tran – founder of Lotus Dental Travel claimed that the website has served over 1,000 patients in the seven months since inception, and has received up to 100 patient testimonials, including suggestions on how to improve.
Keeping in touch with patients is what sets the startup apart from other competitors, said Tran. In fact, it is the company’s standard operating procedure to follow up with patients two weeks after they finish the treatment. Besides sending emails, making phone calls and video chats, Tran said she also met up with patients to hear what they have to say. The company also works with strategic partners to come up with discounts and Loyalty programs for its customers – patients. Aftercare services are specially focused on our company’s policy.
Tran also said that the startup also hopes to educate patients on how to identify legitimate doctors and clinics. The website provides information on common dental treatments such as dental implants, crowns, and veneers, full-arch implants, periodontal diseases, etc. We also develop a dental tourism blog in which global patients could learn about dental tourism, how dental tourism works, how to arrange and make the best of their dental vacation.
It goes both ways – Lotus Dental Travel empowers top dental care providers in Vietnam by making their services known to international patients. Through Lotus Dental Travel’s website, clinics are able to establish an online presence with patients and gain promotional opportunities on their marketing channels.
“We are not in a rush to raise funds as we are not currently in need of money, but what we’re looking for some strategic investors who have the precise connections to come on board and help us grow further into the industry and the region,” Tran said. Meanwhile, she said the startup is in talks with several ASEAN partners on tapping into medical tourism, noting that the sector is gaining traction in Vietnam.
