Your sailing trip across the English Channel will begin from the Solent. It’s a popular sailing hotspot located between the English south coast and the Isle of Wight. Take this opportunity to explore the Solent and the Isle of Wight for a day or two. During this time, you will get know about the yacht, how to work as a crew and wait for the proper wind conditions. You will leave for the overnight passage to the Channel Islands – which will take around 20 hours.

You will join Naleians sailing along the white cliffs of the Needles while leaving behind the Isle of Wight. When the night sets, you will keep watch by teams of 2 or 3 to hold the course and keep an eye on ships that pass along. Remember that, the watches will relay in every three hours. After cruising overnight, you will see the morning light in Alderney. It is up to you whether you stop at Alderney or head along Guernsey to enjoy tasty dinner in the pub.
