Falcons Gave Us Hints About South Africa - Jia Xiuquan
Following the match against the Super Falcons, the coach of Steel Roses, Jia Xiuquan said that they now have an idea of what to expect during the FIFA world cup when they face South Africa. He said that his team will enjoy the benefits of the game during the world cup.
The coach noted that the Super Falcons are strong opponents and even if they won with a wide margin, the game helped him see some of the Chinese team's weaknesses. He noticed some gaps in the quality of the game on an individual and physical level. According to him, his team was victorious because they had home advantage.
Xiuquan commended the locals in Meizhou Wuhua who gave him and his team a warm welcome. He said this was an ideal one stop for his team. In his words:
“By facing the Nigerian Super Falcons, the Chinese Steel Roses were able to gather experience that can be used against their future rivals, South Africa, during the world cup. They have prepared themselves for the upcoming world cup. What we wanted was an idea of what we would see when we face South Africa and we got it. We will use the next few months to work hard and give everyone exciting games.”
Right now, it's difficult to predict how the Super Falcons will fare in the world cup. However, the 3-0 defeat was demoralizing. Everyone in Nigeria was expecting more from the national women's team.
