Moving the Unmovable doubles as a guide for teachers to find adequate knowledge to operate in class and a detailed acknowledgment for teachers already on the job.

June 21, 2022: Angelia Johnson has comprehensively highlighted all the contributions of a teacher in her new book, Moving the Unmovable: A Teacher’s Power to Change Lives. The book sheds light on how difficult the role of a teacher can be, and how it expands beyond just delivering lessons, handing out test papers, and grading assignments. The book gives a holistic view into the lives of teachers, and how they are contributing to the change in our future societies.

Johnson puts forth various essential tools, techniques, objectives, and motivations to inspire children to become better versions of themselves, all the while imparting necessary and standard knowledge. Even though the book is a detailed ode to the efforts and evolving role of an instructor; the book often doubles as a systematic approach towards teaching by using Johnson's first-hand experiences.

One of the most notable chapters of the book is "Knowing What to Do", this part of the book handles how teachers are delivering more than just preplanned or already existing lectures. They put in more than what is recognized and appreciated. Teachers are expected to track deliverables by identifying challenges, planning accordingly, setting timelines for students and themselves, taking necessary breaks, executing the planning, and then evaluating how their strategies panned out.

In regards to tracking deliverables, Angelia Johnson stated the following, "A teacher's role if often mistaken as someone who reads up on a topic and reiterates it in class for the students to grasp on. There's so much more at play – we focus on creating lectures and study plans that will suit different students, with different conditions, and more. We ensure that each child is receiving their due attention, and is dealt with as an individual and not in a group. That is how we plan and track deliverables.”

Angelia Johnson draws from her own experience as a teacher and sheds light on various issues that teachers in this day and age face while trying to perform their jobs. Apart from lessons, guides, and knowledge, the book also focuses greatly on the importance of self-care for teachers.
