Tissot has once again been chosen as the official timekeeper at an international sporting event: the 2010 World Fencing Championships.

Next month, Tissot watches will oversee timekeeping at the tournament, bringing the specialised expertise, sophisticated technology and high-precision accuracy that the watch brand is renowned for to the Grand Palais in Paris.

This year's FIE (Federation Internationale d'Escrime - International Fencing Federation) World Fencing Championships will see the world's best fencing competitors battle it out for top honours at the international competition.

The 2010 Championships will not be the first time Tissot acts in an official capacity at a fencing sporting event; the iconic Swiss watch brand first became responsible for the annual championship's timekeeping and data handling back in 1997.

The FIE Championships, which are held in Paris from November 4 to 13, will be host to 2006 World Fencing Champion Margherita Granbassi. The previous champion, representing Italy in the tournament, has been a Tissot watch brand ambassador since May 2009 and is hoping to repeat her previous success in Paris next month. Granbassi wears a Tissot T-Touch Expert watch.

Also appearing at the FIE Championships is 2008 Olympic sabre champion Zhong Man, China's first Olympic and world fencing champion.
