In recent years, the sock bun seems to have come into style. Actually, ballerina's and other dancers have been using this hairstyle for decades. However, they only seem to have come to in vogue of the common people in recent years. There are two ways to make a sock bun. Take a clean sock, cut off the end, and roll it up. Another way to is actually go out or go to the online store to buy a bun hair piece, it will be best if it matches to your hair color. www.Mofain.com is an online store selling some bun hair piece, you can go and pick up one. And here are six hairstyles that show the use of sock buns!

Traditional Bun

The traditional sock bun ties the hair off on the head. The sock or bun maker has the ends wrapped over it all the way down to the head and this creates the donut look ballerina's and other dancers are famous for. This is the way many people describe how they make the sock bun.

Easy

This style seems the same as the traditional one, but, at least in my opinion, is easier to do than the traditional way. Make a ponytail with the sock or bun maker and then lay the hair equally all around it facing forward. Put a hair tie or rubber band over the sock. Wrap the hair around it as close to the head as possible and use bobby pins to secure. No mousse required!

Top Knot with Braid

A braid is not only a great accent to a bun but also to any other hairstyle. When you braid a small section of hair in the sock bun and then leave it out while you make the bun. Wrap the braid around to add that small accent braid noticable with bobby pins.
Dutch Braided Side Bun

The braid with the bun is one of my favorite ideas attached. Leave a Dutch braid down the side of the head, and then it goes into a fancy sock bun. It is a really great and elegant hairstyle that you can wear almost anywhere, and it doesn't require hairspray or other products that can gunk up your hair.

Braided Top Bun

This style is probably one, if not the, easiest hairstyle on here! Make a ponytail with the sock or bun maker. Braid it all the way to the ends. Wrap it around the sock or bun maker and tuck the ends undernieth with the help of bobby pins. Make sure the bun maker is covered, then you have a "perfect" braided top bun.

Lace Bun

This has the same idea as the easy sock bun. Instead of just wrapping around the ends, start creating a lace braid around the ends. Once you run out of hair to add to the braid, braid regularly and make an accent braid with the bun as well.
