The non-profit organization is making commendable efforts to help young and orphaned children in Mityana Town with the help of sponsors

According to international surveys, around 22,000 children die every day in poverty-stricken areas due to a lack of food, clean water, and basic health care. Studies also show that Uganda is one of the poorest regions in Africa, where the complex problem of poverty threatens the existence of almost 38 percent of children. The lack of life necessities, coupled with a lack of other resources, such as electricity, proper sanitation, and education, has rendered everyday life extremely difficult for children. To counter the effects of these circumstances, a renowned charity foundation has stepped up to extend a helping hand to children caught in poverty’s trap.
Founded by Judy Grim, Missions Made Possible International is a charity organization that’s on a mission to help the underprivileged and orphaned children in Uganda, starting from a small town in the region of Mityana. In collaboration with Richard Dunn, and Judy Grim, the founder of MMPI, the organization has successfully established relationships with several schools to help provide education to these children where they can learn basic life skills and break the chains of poverty.
This has been made possible by the introduction of a new program that allows donors and sponsors to keep track of the sponsored child’s progress. A spokesperson from the organization said, “Most of the children here are born in poverty and spend all of their life trying to escape it. We strive to teach them how to sustain themselves by aiding them. In addition to education and vocational training, we’ve introduced a program for donors where they can sponsor achild. We keep track of the child’s progress and update the donors on it so they’re aware of what a monumental difference even the smallest of donations can make in a child’s life.”
The donor can stay in touch with their sponsored child through letters and can also send them gifts. The organization updates them on the child’s educational progress after each report card period and examination in the various schools where children are sponsored, so that the donors know that their money is being put to good use. MMPI sponsors support children in both primary and secondary schools. This means they support children in what we consider elementary schools, grades from kindergarten through 7 (primary school), and grades 8 through 12, in what we would consider junior and senior high schools (secondary school).
Apart from providing various educational courses and programs on agriculture, art, math, science, and English, the organization gives these children access to additional nutritional food sources, clean water, and a roof over their heads if the child has no home or responsible family members to care for them. This has allowed several children to thrive under the nurturing care of the organization and get jobs to earn a livelihood.
