Prior to launching LOVERODIN with Romy, Chiara was a design consultant for a variety of fashion houses, specializing in bringing creative projects to life, while Romy previously worked in PR and brand communications for a number of fashion houses before moving into the role of brand manager. The duo met almost seven years ago in Milan, and immediately bonded. "We have worked on numerous projects over the years, and discovered our shared love of jewelry. We found that well complemented each other with our diverse tastes and imaginative visions.
Jewellery design has always been a passion for both Chiara and Romy, and their ultimate aim was to build LOVERODIN. The pair works mainly with diamonds and gold but also experiments with new materials. "We focused on integrating our experiences and our art and fashion backgrounds to produce valuable concepts that celebrate Italian craftsmanship. We wanted to create jewelry because it's not just like clothing because it's a personal style reflection, but it's also something precious that can be passed down through generations.
At the end of 2018, we teased LOVERODIN on Instagram, and announced our first capsule in February 2019. We had about 20 different styles in our debut range, except the various colors and stones that were available.
Two of their best-seller models are named after them – the Chiara earrings have a functional design, while the Romy series has two functional characteristics – both cleverly customized. "Our most famous items are the 'Chiara' earrings, which is the snap hook's most straightforward representation and comes in a range of colours, as well as the 'Romy' earrings with a curved profile.
When at a Tokyo antique sale, Chiara and Romy spotted the snap hook together and bought it as a keepsake. "The reason the neon colors came about is that we started to think about how snap hooks are always brightly colored when used in sports events, and that it would be fascinating and creative to try and integrate this into fine jewelry."
The designer duo loves to send unpredictable information to their fine jewelry. "Our first collection included neon enamel gold pieces, so the rubberized finish is an evolution of our approach to design."
"Our third collection was showcased at the Paris Fashion Week just before the lockdown. Our current collection features several new styles as well as new colorways with our signature products. We have just unveiled our solitaire ring range-a first for LOVERODIN. Production has recently resumed in Italy and we are eager to see the wear of our new products.
Among other people Hailey Bieber, Dua Lipa, Lena Perminova, Helena Bordon, Amina Muaddi, Gilda Ambrosio, Giorgia Tordini, Tina Kunakey, Alexa Demie and Vittoria Ceretti were the celebrities to feature in Loverodin.
We've been lucky enough to partner with some of Loverodin's first year's best global channels, such as NET-A-PORTER, Mytheresa.com, Le Bon Marche, Barneys, Brownsfashion.com, Moda Operandi and The Webster. We were featured first for pre-order on Moda Operandi.
