This is the first time the prices of the Ecosport has been revised to this extent. Now it makes a better proposition against Vitara Brezza. Even after the revision it still costs about ₹30,000 more than Brezza.

Ford EcoSport MINI SUV unveiled with three engine options; a 1.0-litre petrol EcoBoost plus the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel motors that power the new Fiesta sedan. While the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine develops a maximum of 125PS of power, the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units put out 112PS and 91PS respectively.

The Ecosport sales are constant at about 3000 to 4000 units a month and with this aggressive pricing, Ford is looking to hold its ground against the new competition from Brezza and Mahindra's TUV 300.

Freestyle gets a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Dragon Petrol engine that produces 96hp and 120Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful petrol engine in its segment. On the other hand, continues with Ford’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TDCi Diesel engine that produces 100hp and 215Nm of peak torque. Both engines are mated to a new Getrag-sourced five-speed manual gearbox. According to Ford, the new gearbox is more refined and would save 40 percent of the gear oil used.

Freestyle has its ride height increased by 16mm to 190mm and gets larger 15-inch alloys. The CUV also gets body cladding, skid plates and functional roof rails. However, it misses out on elements such as LED DRLs and more. On the other hand, elements such as blacked out high contrast on the front bumper, sweptback headlamps, fog lamp bezel and black alloys add more to its sporty appearance.
