MIAMI (DECEMBER 7, 2018) – Nationally recognized public accounting firm, MBAF, is proud to announce that Frank Gonzalez, CPA, CFF, principal-in-charge of the Audit Department, has been honored with Florida International University s (FIU) Distinguished Alumni Award, for his commitment to the university and for his successes in his profession. The award was accepted by Gonzalez at the FIU Alumni Association s 17th Annual Torch Awards Gala in Miami on November 17.

The FIU Torch Award is the highest honor bestowed upon alumni by the FIU Alumni Association. At the gala, FIU faculty and alumni who make a difference in their community, in their field, and at FIU, are recognized through an exquisite evening of dinner and dancing. The Distinguished Alumni awards are presented to alumni who have brought honor and distinction to the university through their notable record of service and achievement in a particular discipline, organization or cause.

Gonzalez, a graduate of FIU s College of Business, currently serves as principal-in-charge of the Audit Department at MBAF, a top 40 public accounting firm, and leads the firm s financial institutions and SEC practices. He is highly experienced in real estate, financial institutions, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, and domestic and international banking organizations. He continues to serve FIU as a Foundation Board Member since 2014, School of Accounting Advisory Board Member since 2006 and School of Business Dean s Council Member since 2012.
