Rahul Gandhi has been denied permission to visit Mandsaur where six people were killed and several others injured on June 6 as the farmer’s agitation turned violent in the district, leading to the imposition of curfew in the area.
The deceased suffered bullet wounds, but the local authorities denied that the police fired on the protesters, who were on a rampage.
Minutes after the news broke, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP government and said “this government is at war with the farmers of our country”.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan blamed the Congress for provoking the violence in the state.
Moreover, Chouhan has announced compensation of Rs 1 crore and a job to the next of kind of those who were killed and also free treatment to the injured.
Shivkumar Sharma, Chairman of Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangh identified the deceased as Bablu Patidar, Sarender Patidar, Kanhaiya, Satyanarayan, and Akhilesh, who is said to be a college student.
