Nearly Thousands of manufacturing jobs in the UK now have been safeguarded after BMW has made an announcement that they will be starting an investment of 250 million pounds as far as the matter of mini car is concerned.

This plan has now in come as a relief as far as 5,500 workers at the Mini manufacturing plant situated in Oxford is concernced, along with steel body pressings operation at Swindon as well as engine plant at Hams Hall, that are placed near Birmingham.
The extra amount of funding, that is on top of the almost a sum of 500 million pounds in the form of the UK investment which was announced by BMW in the year 2011. this sum is going to be brought into use in order to make an increase in the number of MINIs made along with a build up to 10 new models of cars of the brands.
Vince Cable, who is the Business Secretary, has also welcomed the plan as he had visited the Oxford factory on the morning of Monday. He was of the view that this ambitious plan of BMW as far as the Mini cars are concerned is going to ensure that the sites of UK at Oxford, Swindon as well as Hams Hall is going to remain intact at the centre of Mini production worldwide. He added that the investment which is worth 250 million pounds in addition to the 500 million pounds last year that is in the year 2011, demonstrates the commitment of BMW to the UK as well as towards safeguarding the jobs for the future.
David Cameron added to this that he was very much delighted that BMW had thought about making such a significant investment in the country. This demonstrates the country's confidence in the British manufacturing industry, which also provides a boost for the workforce, and also shows the country is making real progress in re-balancing the condition of the economy.
