Check that the drain hose is properly closed and hooked in place and that the lint filter is engaged again. You can easily test it: put one liter of water in the washing drum. Now, no more water should leak!

If you are trying to open the washing machine to remove the wet laundry, and if the door is still locked, read these tips offered by dry cleaning app. At the drain hose, you will find a small plastic lever. Pull-on it until you hear a slight click and at the same time open the door.

After you have removed the laundry, usually the last remaining water runs out of the hose.

Close the tubing and hang it back into the fixation.

Remove and clean the lint filter:

The lint filter is usually located directly next to the drain hose. Otherwise, take a look at the manual of your machine.

How to remove the sieve?

Have a rag or towel ready to catch any remaining water from the sieve.

Open the sieve. Depending on the model, you may need to turn it or release a lever to pull it out.

Remove the sieve. Do not get irritated if it does not look like a real sieve. Some models today do without the typical fine mesh grid.

How to clean the sieve and sieve channel?

Rinse the lint filter in the sink and brush if necessary.

Clean the sieve channel of your washing machine before re-inserting the sieve. The sieve channel is the area where the sieve sits otherwise.

Remove by hand, rough dirt, such as sand, hair or pebbles.

According to dry cleaning app, to thoroughly remove all debris, rinse the sieve channel with water. To do this, place a flat container directly in front of the exit of the canal, or cover the floor with several towels. Pour one liter of water into the washing drum. The water then drains directly through the sieve channel. Repeat the process until only clear water runs out.

Put the strainer back in.

Check that the drain hose is properly closed and hooked in place and that the lint filter is engaged again. You can easily test it: put one liter of water in the washing drum. Now, no more water should leak!

Close the skirting board.

If you want, you can now put the laundry back and start a new wash - this time without the sandy towel.

The lint filter - so small and yet so important

As a rule, the lint filter does its work in secret. Its function is to filter anything that should not get into the drain hose from the washing machine. No matter if it is a small change that was forgotten in your pocket or just the sand that was not tapped properly from the beach towel. All of this ends up in the lint filter. It prevents the drain hose from becoming clogged.
