Water Damage and Calgary Flood Damage

like Phoenix Restoration, to help get things under control, then call your insurance provider because usually takes them a few days to get back to you.

Just wanted to help policy owners with some important information regarding water damage you may have had in your home and your insurance coverage, there seems to be some confusion when I meet people at their home after they have had a water damage or flood of some sort, one of the first things I ask is if they have insurance, I do this because most floods end up costing a fair bit, by the time they are dried and ready for the rebuild portion, as well that’s why you pay your premiums so you don’t have to pay $1500 or more to have water removed from your basements.

One of the first things you are required to do as a policy owner is to “mitigate the loss” that’s an insurance term for stop the damage from costing more money to fix or clean up, so you as the policy owner need to reduce the problem from becoming any larger, that means you can hire a plumber and a restoration company, like Phoenix Restoration, to help get things under control, then call your insurance provider because usually takes them a few days to get back to you.

Almost every time you have a sewage backup you are covered and most times if a water supply line or pipe has broken you are covered, I have not seen these kinds of damage refused, having said that check your policy for exclusions, one exclusion that is the most common is mold.

We deal with insurance companies all the time so another thing you can do once you have called, pass your adjuster information on to us (or whatever restoration company you have chosen), we will call them on your behalf and help you through the process as quickly as possible, one thing to remember is you own the policy, you’re the customer and the customer is always right! Right? Well it should be that way.For more see here phoenixfirst.ca
