Marcus D. Hiles, Chairman and CEO of Western Rim Property Services is committed to planting more trees on his properties.

Marcus D. Hiles, Chairman and CEO of Western Property Services has long been committed to improving his properties by incorporating more natural and green space than his competitors. His company is a real estate development firm focusing on luxury residences throughout the Grand Prairie area that feature all of the modern amenities his residents expect. Hiles has created many opportunities for people to find their perfect place to live throughout the area and reap the benefits of having trees and open spaces around. Hiles loves to incorporate natural space for his residences and is always looking for new ways to improve the community at his apartment buildings to foster an open and friendly community.

One of the ways Marcus D. Hiles serves his residents and his partners in the real estate development business is by planting trees. It sounds silly, but trees have marked positive effects on building heating and cooling costs and on the health benefits of those living around more trees. When Hiles learned that a single tree can absorb as much as forty-eight pounds of carbon dioxide per year, he had to make a commitment to incorporate more trees in his properties throughout the Grand Prairie area. He decided to make trees and plants a large part of his new construction designs and property development projects for his company.

Marcus D. Hiles also learned that trees can significantly cut down on building heating and cooling costs. According to the United States Forest Service, trees placed around buildings reduce air conditioning needs by as much as thirty percent, and save twenty to fifty percent in energy used to heat buildings. He also learned, in an effort to help the ecology of his properties throughout the Grand Prairie area, Hiles also learned that trees can lift up to 100 gallons of water from the ground, through their roots and trunks, and discharge it into the air. The health and building cost benefits of trees planted near buildings are enormous and keep piling up. Hiles is happy to incorporate green space thinking and sustainable energy practices into his properties with Western Rim Property Services.
