Legendary England all-rounder Ian Botham has recently revealed his wish where he said that he would have loved to play against Indian captain Virat Kohli. He also said that Kohli is the right person to lead the Indian cricket team.

While speaking in an online chat session with Playwrite Foundation, Ian Botham was quoted as saying by the Times of India: "Virat takes the game to the opposition, he takes a stand for his players. I would have loved to play against him. He is the right guy to take Indian cricket forward."

He even shared his views on all-rounders as well when he was asked about all-rounders in modern-day cricket. He said that all-rounders can't be manufactured and also they don't grow on trees. It’s their hard work and for an all-rounder the workload is double and it certainly takes a toll on the body too.

The veteran said, "Just imagine Kapil… the amount of bowling he did on those Indian pitches, which had very little to offer, that too in the scorching heat of Chennai and Delhi. I can't see anyone in the present generation being able to do that."

Ian Botham also rated England all-rounder Ben Stokes higher than Andrew Flintoff, citing the 2019 World Cup and Ashes hero is like him. Stokes had a wonderful year at first in the ICC Cricket World Cup and then in the Ashes. In both cases, he single-handedly fought for the side and won as well. His all-round ability has made him one of the key members of the team which won their maiden World Cup title last year.

"Ben (Stokes) is better than a mile to Freddy. Ben Stokes is the closest version of me, he plays like me with his heart on his sleeve. Flintoff was good but Stokes is just exceptional. He is the best cricketer in the world now," he concluded.
