REAL TIME UPDATE STATUS ON BILL A5777/S3820 - now A5820

Assembly Candidate running for LD4 in Camden & Gloucester County, Denise Gonzalez Condemns Murphy’s Abuse of Power Bill A5777--now A5820

Camden County, NJ – URGENT UPDATE REAL TIME: Bill A5777 currently has been submitted for a second reading in the Senate Committee. Proposed bill was postponed as of Thursday, May 20th, 2021, with a Senate accompanying bill and an identical bill A5820 to be introduced bypassing Committee and public. Denise Gonzalez, candidate running for Legislative District 4 Assembly seat in Camden and Gloucester County condemns Murphy’s latest approach in abuse of power.

Bill A5777 which Murphy submitted on Friday, May 14th, 2021, passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee on May 18th, and introduced for a second reading in the Senate Committee on Thursday, May 20, 2021 which would allow 15 executive orders to become law and permit Murphy to remain in control until 2022, despite the election.

“As of right now, Assembly Speaker Coughlin postponed the bill A5777. Bill A5820 has bee introduced. As we anticipated Sweeney chose to circumvent the Committee, not allowing room for debate or understand the language of the bill; by doing so, once again, he, along with the Democratic party, chooses to ignore the voice of the constituents by allowing them the opportunity to participate in the legislative process, as our Constitution evidently displays,” said Ms. Gonzalez.

We know the Democratic party’s attempt is to force the other legislators to vote in favor for this bill. We will not let this happen, not on our watch,” mentioned Gonzalez.

“It is inconceivable to think that on top of all the devastation and suffering brought about by Murphy and his administration’s unnecessary mandates, from suffocating our economic growth, isolating families, to denying medical treatment, (which could have saved thousands of lives), Murphy adds insult to these injuries by disregarding our law which is our Bill of Rights and our Constitution in passing this bill.

“This is a complete power grab by Murphy,” stated Steve Pakradooni, candidate running for New Jersey State Senate for the Legislative District 4 seat in Camden & Gloucester County. He emphasized, “our State Senator and Assembly members, as we speak, are signing & giving their own power away, that would in normal circumstances allow to keep the Governor in check.”

Mr. Pakradooni further noted, “no executive branch should have that amount of power. The long-term Democrats out of the LD4 are now rendered useless with this bill; which means the residents will not be able to be represented correctly.”

“Governor Murphy will hold too much power if this bill passes. He is ominously ignoring the judicial and legislative branch. His actions resemble a “democratic federal law-bound State with a republican form of government, which is used in The Russian Federation Constitution, under Article 1. Our founding fathers understood the concept of one branch exercising too much power which is why checks and balances were set in place; and one of the many reasons why our state and US Constitution was created. This goes against our Constitution and who we are as Americans,” stated . Pakradooni.

“Murphy made a critical error. We are a state, a nation that follows the Constitution,” stated Gonzalez.
“I worked tirelessly before running for a position, educating many legislators on the importance of maintaining medical autonomy, parental and child rights as well as defending our religious freedom; and I will not stop now,“ expressed Gonzalez.
Gonzalez further noted, “Call and email your legislators and ask them what is the urgency to push the legislative bill, A5777, now A5820, without informing the public and without providing ample time for legislators to read and understand this legislation”. “We will continue to monitor this bill and keep everyone informed in real time status,” stated Pakradooni.
