Seats for Latino Executives at The Boardroom Table Remain Limited

L’ATTITUDE team expresses their concern about the slow pace of transformation

While Latinos are the fastest-growing population in the States and the group presents a fifth of the country’s population, there are still many areas where their presence is lacking. Currently, we are looking at a situation where Hispanics make up nearly 20% of the local workforce but when it comes to executive positions there is still a major lack of representation from this group. Latino executives represent only 4% of the national executives. This is one of the arenas where the team at L’ATTITUDE has their focus to bring the minority group equal opportunities.

“When we take an overall look at the major cities in the country, it becomes evident that in certain cities there is far greater equality than in others. The city which is the best example of equality in the workforce is Pittsburgh. Here we have 1.4% of Latinos in the overall labor market and when we look at an executive level, Hispanics fill 1.3% of the available seats. Other cities that come relatively close to this desired distribution are Detroit, St. Louis, and Cincinnati. While Miami has the largest percentage of Latino executives, 24.6%, this is not a positive image at all. Once we look at this percentage in comparison with the 44.1% Latinos in the workforce, it becomes evident that there is massive inequality and the minority group is at the shortest end of the stick,” says Andrea Trujillo, the director of brand digital marketing for L’ATTITUDE.

She then expands on now New York is also completely out of sync and that this is the kind of equality they want to bring an end to by creating awareness of the massive contribution that Latinos are making to their communities, the workforce, and the overall national economy. At their annual events, they offer their attendees opportunities to rub shoulders with successful Latino executives who overcame many obstacles on their way towards the top. These are professionals who are eager to share tips and advice on how the workforce should approach the challenges they are facing and how to overcome them with immense success.
“In the aftermath of this year’s annual L’ATTITUDE event, an event that enjoys positive commentary on being an outstanding success, we can only hope that the seeds that have been planted this time around will continue to sprout and that by our next event in the Fall of 2022, these numbers would show significant improvement,” she concludes.

About Us
The Latino population is breaking through one barrier after the other. This is true when it comes to the level of education, financial contribution, and political influence on the overall condition of the United States. To provide this minority group with the support, advice, and networking opportunities they need to excel to even greater heights and to enjoy fair chances and have access to the necessary resources to support their ventures, our team works hard and is committed to creating exceptional opportunities for the cohort.
