As a publication dedicated to those who live and work in the Chicagoland area, you may be interested in an online venture recently launched by a local businesswoman and longtime Hinsdale resident. I’d like to submit information on the opening of Lady Builder Shops, an online retail site featuring housewares, gifts, furniture and accessories, in the hopes that your publication might consider running a story on the dynamic team behind the site.

Lady Builder Shops is the brainchild of Judy Linn, who has been building custom homes in the Hinsdale area as the only female builder in town for the past 16 years through her company Thomas Homes. A drive through town will reveal dozens of tasteful and unique homes that Judy has built over the years.

As a mother of five, Judy’s success as a builder was deeply rooted in her ability to make the houses she built not only stylish, but also comfortable and functional for family living. Her work for her clients extended beyond construction as she stayed on to help with the home’s design—handlinglight fixture selections, pulling fabric options and helping with furniture placement.

Judy’s passion for the décor side of the business inspired her to open a retail outlet that would offer consumers access to some of the unique housewares she has found while searching for the right piece for her clients. The shop, which offers everything from furniture and light fixtures to seasonal gifts and tableware, aims to help shoppers find special items that will enhance their home’s design and reflect their taste and personality.

The Lady Builder Shops team (pictured) includes Judy’s daughter-in-law, Hinsdale resident Megan Linn, and Thomas Homes’ project manager and design assistant, Jadwiga Wasilewski. Working from their office on Vine Street, they launched ladybuildershops.com with encouraging results thus far.
