Adadi Mariam church is located 55 km away to the south of Addis Ababa on the main road of Butajera. It is believed that the church was constructed during the last quarter of 12th and early 13th century; building structure is quite similar to that of the famous Lalibella Church. One of the common features that both shares is being Rock-hewn church. Old Spiritual Paintings, ‘’Branna’’ Books, excavated caves, crosses, Bells and other ritual materials are some of the things to be visited in addition to architectural work of the Church. Visiting this amazing Rock - hewn church is doable in a single day.

MELKA KUNTURE
Melka Kunture pre-historic archaeological site lies in the upper Awash valley, 50 km south of Addis Ababa, at 2000m ASL. The site was discovered by Gerard Dekker in 1963. French and Italian Archeologists have been conducting the pre-history of Africa based on the findings of this place.
In Melka Kunture you will find two kinds of museums, in Tukuls and an Open Air museum, located in the savannah environment dominated by the Acacias.
