The pesticide handling and distribution training course is offered by professional consultants to ensure that the participants enhance their knowledge, skills and competency to safely distribute the pesticides taking health and safety precautions. The pesticide hand held application course content focus on enriching the knowledge of the participants as to why pesticides have to be used and the different pest control methods that are environmentally safe and also the legislation that applies to pesticides. It also talks about why to receive pesticide training, selection of suitable pesticides, safe handling, storage, application and disposal of pesticides along with handling the equipment and components of a handheld sprayer. It also focuses on training the candidates to understand the health & safety information like labels, markings and safety data sheets, preparation and calibration of hand held sprayers, mixing and application of sprayers and also storing sprays, PPE & equipment as part of the course. On completion of the course an assessment is conducted on the use and calibration of the sprayer.

The pesticide handling and distribution training for the boom sprayer almost cover the same topics as like in the hand held sprayer course with additional details on handling, preparation and calibration of a boom sprayer. Both the courses are two day programs and on successful completion can lead to a level 5 qualification in Horticulture. The cost of hand held sprayer classes cost around 200 euros and that of Boom sprayer cost around 250 euros for the two day classes.
