Nate’s Early Life:
DJ Natural Nate, also known as Nathaniel Raymond Lemieux, is an American Disc Jockey (DJ) and record executive born to David Lemieux and Jacque Lemieux. DJ Natural Nate is a rising star in the electronic music scene. He developed an immense passion for music and DJing as a child. Among many prominent figures in the industry, DJ Nate was hugely inspired by Mike Reynolds, Jay Reynolds, Mike Underwood, Bruce Davis, Brandon Mckim, Tyler Brian, and DJ Mike Devious.
Though apart from his musical aspiration, DJ Nate attended multiple schools and obtained certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC), specializing in water/flood damage, carpet cleaning, carpet repairs, and upholstery cleaning, among many others. DJ Nate also served as a United State Marine.
Nate, humble and modest, admits that he never considered himself a great DJ or producer. He believed that he is still constantly learning and evolving in his craft. It is this genuine humility and thirst for knowledge that sets Nate apart and fuels his relentless pursuit of musical excellence.

The Spark Of Curiosity:
In the year 1991, Nate received an unexpected invitation to a roller-skating rink party. Oblivious to the fact that this invitation would forever change his life, he went there with not much high expectations. Little did he know that this seemingly ordinary event would introduce him to the underground world of electronic music, where creativity had no limits.
Nate's first experience with electronic music was not love at first sight. Confusion and bewilderment engulfed him as he struggled to comprehend this new sonic landscape. The music was unfamiliar, unlike anything he had heard before. But amidst the initial disorientation, he also found solace in the music and the company of his good friends who accompanied him to these shows. It was the sense of belonging that he felt towards it, that drew him in and compelled him to dive deeper into this new yet exciting realm.
Though everything changed when he encountered remixes that redefined his understanding of music. One memorable night, a DJ skillfully played A-ha's "Take On Me" (Remix) with mesmerizing electronic elements, creating a sonic fusion that captivated Nate's imagination. This innovative use of familiar tunes in an entirely different context sparked a profound appreciation for underground electronic music. Thus, he became captivated by the endless creativity and the transformative power of remixes.
Nate's journey continued in his home state of Colorado, a hotspot for the vibrant underground culture that thrived in the '90s. He was fortunate to witness the true essence of the underground scene, complete with its hidden map points and the thrill of unearthing secret shows. The memories of those times still hold a special place in his heart, evoking a sense of adventure and excitement within him.
At this stage, Nate had little knowledge of what a DJ truly was. His initial misconception led him to believe that DJs were masterminds behind the creation of new music, carefully piecing together fragments from different records to craft unique tracks. Ignorant of the production process, he remained blissfully unaware that these songs were already carefully curated by producers before being pressed onto records. Nonetheless, he embraced his role as a dancer and an ardent supporter of the scene, finding joy in the acceptance and the camaraderie that surrounded him.

Discovering The East Coast Beat:
Life took Nate on a new journey when he joined the United States Marines and was stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina, from 1993 to 1997. This phase proved to be pivotal in his musical evolution, as he encountered the thriving breakbeat scene on the East Coast. As a passionate break-dancer himself, he felt like he had discovered a musical oasis that catered to his dance-driven spirit.
The vibrant East Coast breakbeat scene introduced Nate to a new array of influences and inspirational figures. From the iconic Hard Kiss Brothers to the ethereal sounds of Rabbit in the Moon, the DJ skills of Scott Henry, the mesmerizing four-turntable performances by DJ Misty Kiss, and countless other talented artists.
As time passed, Nate witnessed a shift in the music landscape. The rise of Gabber House lead to a decline in breakbeat shows, hence limiting the opportunities to hear the music he loved. Therefore, tired of paying costly entry fees and being left unsatisfied with the musical offerings, he decided to take charge.
Nate realized that he could create his own mixes, according to his personal taste, rather than relying solely on attending shows. Thus, he set out to acquire his own turntables. The anticipation and excitement were palpable as he eagerly awaited the arrival of his prized possessions.
In 1996, the momentous day arrived when Nate finally got his first pair of turntables. The record that marked this milestone was "Out of Body Experience" by Rabbit in the Moon from the album "Delusions of Grandeur." A cherished record that holds a special place in his heart to this day.
Surprisingly, Nate's journey into mixing began with drum and bass, a genre that captured his imagination. Drawing inspiration from Jungle Liquid Sky and his affinity for acid jazz and downtempo music, he started honing his mixing skills. A dear friend from New York imparted invaluable advice on counting beats that transformed his approach to blending tracks. The art of mixing quickly became an obsession, and Nate found himself falling in love with the exhilaration of seamlessly merging two records to create an entirely new sonic experience.

From Reluctant DJ To Breakbeat Soldier:
Nate's transformation from an enthusiastic dancer to a DJ was serendipitous. Following his first month of spinning records, word of his talent spread like wildfire. Invitations to perform flooded in, despite his initial reservations and the genuine desire to support and uplift the local talent rather than compete with them. The demand for breakbeat DJs grew, and Nate felt a sense of responsibility to contribute to the scene.
Motivated by a deep admiration for the producers and a desire to showcase their incredible music, Nate became a soldier in the breakbeat movement. He wanted to let these talented individuals know that their work was appreciated and celebrated. His primary goal was to create an immersive experience for the break-dancers, igniting their passion and fueling their creativity.
Little did he know that this unintended journey into DJing would become a lifelong pursuit, bringing him fulfillment and joy beyond his wildest dreams. The support and encouragement he received from the community inspired him to continue pushing the boundaries of his craft, constantly seeking new ways to elevate the breakbeat genre.
