Recalling the howling of winds as if it was never going to end, Andrew Lesnak still has the memories of the hurricane Sandy left deep inside his heart. The disaster ended and his life was shattered into pieces within moments. The after math of the hurricane left him without food and shelter. While scrambling for it, Andrew was desperately looking for some help. It was really hard for him to come to the real term as being there all his life, he did not know any place else but home.

Thankfully, the relief workers from a nonprofit organization, American Red Cross reached the place and started helping the victims. Their contribution helped Andrew Lesnak to stand on his own feet and he worked from the scratch to rebuild everything that he lost in the disaster. Assisting him with the shelter solutions, this organization prioritized the provision of materials, tools, cash, and technical assistance, thus supporting the process.

The contribution of the organization in the recovery of Andrew Lesnak touched his soul deeply. He came up with a personal and a hands-on approach to those who were still struggling with the aftermath of the hurricane. He underwent many years of mental health treatment to come out of the trauma that he developed soon after the disaster. However, all these things made him more focused and helped him realize the value for life.

Soon Andrew Lesnak came up with the Community Outreach Program so that he could easily have an access to those who were in dire need. He assisted by providing them with the affordable housing, provided them with the training so that they can enhance their earning capabilities. He could easily relate himself to those who were suffering from the anxieties and depression post hurricane. He volunteered to serve as a counselor for such people and helped them to start their life again.

After making peace with the losses, Andrew Lesnak finds himself quite stable and happy. He believes that although hurricane was quite scary and took everything away from him, but it just could not break his will power and courage.
