Uttarakhand Get New Wings! Enjoy air Connectivity between Dehradun, Pithoragarh and Pantnagar

This new air route will be the second service, being operated under the flying plan in the state and under the UDAN Scheme

 
One will now only take an hour to reach the remote mountainous areas of Kumaon from the capital of Dehradun and that too only in 1500 ₹! The first public air service launched by Heritage Aviation will start from Dehradun to Pithoragarh at 0930 hours on January 17, 2019.

Shri Dilip Jawalkar, Chief Secretary, Tourism and Civil Aviation Department said, “This new air route will be the second service, being operated under the flying plan in the state and under the UDAN Scheme. This serviced has been started with the aim of facilitating the residents of Uttarakhand who reside on the remote areas of Nepal and China border. Thus a journey of 12 to 16 hours would be completed now at just at an hour interval”.

The booking for these flights can be done online for travel. In addition, in the near future, the agency intends to start more and more flights so that more people can benefit from this scheme. On one hand this will give tourists an opportunity to see the natural beauty of remote areas of Kumaon closely, while on the other, the flow of tourism will strengthen the local economy. Apart from this, the scheme will also work in tightening the problem of increasing migration in the state.

The maximum credit goes to the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council and its Additional Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ravi Shankar, who showed serious efforts for initiating this scheme in the form of, and as a result, this achievement could be embodied.
