Artists are bestowed with a kind of imagination and ability to sense things that are not visible to the naked eyes. Truth is a matter of fact to some but, for an artist, truth is a matter of perspective. He sees things that don’t exist and people who lie beyond the dimensions of existing reality. Art is a channel for an artist to reveal the ideal beauty and sometimes to conceal it and show the true nature of things that is not always pleasing to the eyes.

Amit Kalla creates on canvas vivid imagery of his imagination with vibrant and jovial colors. It seems that through his artworks he attempts to reimagine the meaning of artistic beauty and radiate something revolutionizing out of the box.

According to him, “I think when I was growing up as a kid in Jaipur, I experienced that in all childhood activities, everything was directionless, but I realized later that even with directionlessness, there was a sequence and that sequence was decided by the inherent constant passion to touch every experience possible in the world without understanding and knowing that incompleteness is a social sin”.

Here he realizes that he was also susceptible to committing this sin of incompleteness. But, that gave him to metamorphose his thoughts to reveal the new discourse in his works. He beautifully says that even when we are going directionless, there is something which is taking us to our destination. So, there is a need for continuing the journey even though one feels incomplete and aimless.

Amit Kalla is also a renowned poet. His collection of poems, which were incidentally his first collection, was awarded the honorary Jyanpeeth’s Young Poet Award. This award is given to emerging talents in the field of poetry. He is prolific writer and has published four more collections. His works are widely acclaimed. Here is the list:-

8. SamkalinBhartiya

10. Navya
11. AkharKalash

He believes in what is known as in Indian culture as Punarjanam or the iconic theory of transmigration of souls. He is of the view that nature and humans are bound by the thread of eternity.

He took birth on 7th February 1980 in the Pink City of India- Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his graduation from National Museum Institute situated in New Delhi where he researched Art History in the year 2003. Later, he got enrolled in Jawaharlal Nehru University to do his masters in Art and Aesthetics in the year 2005. He has featured in 14 solo shows and many group shows. He also started a moment for social change named Ramta Drig Collective. This moment focuses on transforming the world through their promoting art and literature which is a weapon of social change. Best wishes to him for starting a journey on the road which is seldom taken by people.
