Industrial Flow Control has marked over 30 years as a leader in the petrochemical industry where they offer bespoke product and service packages that are purpose-designed. The British company initially began as a distributor of loading arms and flow meters but has over time expanded their service reach to provide comprehensive project solutions. An unparalleled engineering expertise and heavy investment in their production facilities have been vital in the firm’s establishment of Industrial Flow Control as a market giant with a global range of clients.

Speaking about their in-house design services, the Chief Engineer said, “In the pursuit to become a one-stop solutions provider, we built one of the most flexible in-house design and build service processes. By making use of the latest 2D and 3D CAD drawings among other techniques, we give you the freedom to incorporate different products into a complete system. The engineered solutions we provide follow a systematic procedure where we take account of the functionality expected at an oil site for example to craft a design that will work for that particular operation. Our engineers will then work on the actualisation of the design by fabricating equipment for installations.”

Handling of chemicals requires paying special attention to the products used as they are highly corrosive and hazardous. Industrial Flow Control offers innovative solutions for clients looking for simple but efficient loading equipment that will make the handling of chemicals safer. The chemical truck loading arms offered by the company have been tested and certified to meet the handling specifications of different types of chemicals while supporting bulk transfers. IFC makes the arms using either carbon steel or stainless steel which can sustain up to 15 bar pressure limit with working temperatures from -25°C to +85°C.

Speaking on why a site requires folding stairs, the Sales Executive said, “Folding stairs are a central part of any loading system, as they give you the convenience of accessing trucks from heights. Most of the risks associated with working at heights can be eliminated thus fulfilling the occupational health and safety requirements recommended for the petrochemical industry. Our models are built with slip free stairs and can easily be adjusted either manually or pneumatically to reach the desired heights before being locked in place with a lock chain to remain in the fixed position.”

Bottom loading and unloading arms are fast replacing top loading systems as the safer option when it comes to liquid transfers in many countries. IFC Inflow has been an ardent promoter of this new technique, which they have been gradually introducing to their clients as a replacement to the older systems. The bottom unloading arms provided by the manufacturer cut out on the need to work at heights as they operate from ground levels.
