Gatlinburg, Tennessee was recently devastated by a fire, destroying nearly 20,000 acres of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In response to this crisis, Restaurant Depot has teamed with the Gatlinburg Fund to help the region impacted to initiate the process of rebuilding their lives.

Restaurant Depot branches from 6 surrounding states have stepped up to answer Executive Chairman Stanley Fleishman’s call to help in raising funds. RD’s in North Carolina, S. Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky have all joined forces with the two Tennessee branches whose communities were affected.

The stores are collecting money from customers and employees alike and have already raised a rounded total of $40,000. The donation includes a matching donation from Jetro/Restaurant Depot Corporate Office.

The fire in Tennessee, was incubated by the area’s worst drought in nearly a decade and was fueled by erratic 70 mph wind gusts which grew the fire into multiple fires and even reached a popular resort town 10 miles away. The damage has been catastrophic and the lives of the residents of Gatlinburg will never be the same.
