What are low sperm count symptoms?
One of the main symptoms of low sperm count is the inability to achieve pregnancy. Sometimes, you may not notice any visible signs and symptoms to detect low sperm count. In many cases, a few conditions can lead to low sperm count signs, such as inherited chromosomal abnormality, obstruction of the passage of sperm, etc. may display symptoms, which includes;
• Low sex drive

• Erectile dysfunction

• Lump, swelling or pain in the testicular area

• Decreased facial hair or body hair

• Chromosome or hormonal abnormality

When do you need medical attention?
• If you are unable to conceive a child even after a year of trying regularly

• If you are experiencing problems with erection, ejaculation, or problems related to any other sexual function

• If you have had a history of the problem with the testicles, prostate, or even sexual issues

• Groin, testicle, scrotum, or even penis surgery

• Discomfort, lump or pain in the testicles

What are the causes of low sperm count?
It is important to understand that sperm production is a complicated procedure, where one requires normally functioning testicles, hypothalamus, and the pituitary glands. During the process, once the sperm is produced, thin tubes transfer them into semen and together, they are ejaculated. If one suffers from a problem related to any of these systems, it can interfere with sperm production. Some of the medical conditions that lead to low sperm count are;
• Varicocele – In this condition, the veins that drain the testicles get swollen, reducing the quality of the sperm.

• Infection – There are some infections that can come in between the health of the sperm and its production, such as inflammation of the epididymis, STDs, etc.

• Problems in ejaculating – Various health issues, medicines, etc. can cause problems in ejaculating.

• Some antibodies attack the sperm, mistaking them as harmful foreign bodies.

• Tumors – Both cancerous and non-cancerous tumors can interfere with the production of the sperm.

• Undescended testis – When the fetal development occurs, in some cases, either one or sometimes both the testicles don’t come down from the abdomen and take its position in the sac-like they are supposed to.

• The tubules used to transfer the sperm are faulty

• Chromosome defects

• Celiac disease – A digestive issue that can cause male infertility

• Consuming certain medications

• Previous surgeries

Some other factors that contribute towards the low sperm count are;
• Consuming drugs

• Overconsumption of alcohol

• Occupational hazards

• Tobacco

• Too much stress

• Depression

• Weight

• Issues with sperm testing

What is the treatment for low sperm count?
The low sperm count treatments depend on the cause. If it because of a medical condition, the doctor will first rectify the disorder to improve the sperm count and if it is because of lifestyle habits, rehabilitation and alternate lifestyle choices are prescribed. Your doctor might also advise you to maintain a healthy weight and avoid stress.
