Plastic is one of the biggest problems that offices face. They end up in landfills, in the ocean and are not biodegradable in nature. Many countries are holding a ban on using plastic forever but then there are some places where there is an unprecedented use of such items. If you have business and you feel like you want to do something about this ongoing issue, then the best thing you can do is indulge in some plastic-free office supplies.
Using supplies that are plastic free is a great indulgence but step-by-step you can make sure you are fulfilling the step.
Here are some simple steps and ideas for reducing the plastic use at work.

Think about the impact of all the stuff you use
Right from drinking coffee to the A4 papers packet, to your customers receiving their shipment everywhere there is plastic use. Now, think about the environmental impact of all the goods and services that you use in your organization and how many of them require office supplies to be made out of plastic.
Instead, you can request information regarding the reusable and recyclable materials and packaging as a part of the tender process. This will include office supplies for the stationary, kitchen, and the bathroom goods.

Ban the use of plastic bottles and straws
If the organization is yours, you can always indulge in plastic-free packaging and even ask your fellow co-workers to do the same. This is the least thing you can do to make sure that your organization is proceeding towards a plastic-free one. Right from using the plastic bottles to the straws and stuff in the kitchen, you can ensure that nobody is using plastic supplies.

Use proper cutlery instead of plastic plates
Although this might sound a little cliché, but it is better if you use glass and proper cutlery set instead of opting for plastic and paper plates since that will generate a less amount of waste and you can clean it up later as well. Over time, you can save a lot you spend on the plastic and glass plates.
